TRAINING PARTNERS

Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission Training Partners, 2008-09

Upon becoming a registered apprentice in Saskatchewan, the Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission (SATCC) will place you into technical training.  All scheduling of apprenticeship training is done by the Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission.

Following are the training providers for most of Saskatchewan’s apprentices:

 MAIN TRAINING PROVIDER:
 
Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology (SIAST) – SIAST is the training provider for the majority of Saskatchewan’s apprentices. SIAST has four main campuses located at Prince Albert, Saskatoon, Moose Jaw and Regina. www.gosiast.com
 
 ADDITIONAL TRAINING PROVIDERS:
 
Western Trade Training Institute (WTTI) – Training for the crane and hoist operating trades is delivered at locations around the province by WTTI. wttionline.ca
 
South East Regional College (SERC) – All rig technician apprentices take their apprenticeship training at SERC in Estevan. www.southeastcollege.org
 
Saskatchewan Power Corporation (SPC) – The SPC Training Centre at Weyburn delivers training to Saskatchewan’s power lineperson apprentices.
 
SED Systems – All electronic assembler apprentices are trained at the SED Systems facility on the University of Saskatchewan campus in Saskatoon http://www.sedsystems.ca/
 
Saskatchewan Tourism Education Council (STEC) – Apprenticeship training in the food and beverage person trades and the guest services representative trade is provided at a number of locations in the province. http://www.stec.com/
 
United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners – Scaffolder training for registered apprentices is provided at their Saskatoon training facility.
 
Insulators Union – Insulator apprenticeship training is delivered in Regina
